Peter and Henry like to make sure their hair is always looking perfect for school.  I have enstilled this in them and I'm glad they like to look nice.  I just wish Peter would let me help him style his hair lol.  Sometimes he likes to slick it straight down the sides and it looks a little funny.  He was helping Henry style his curls one morning and I caught him making these funny faces.  They crack me up.  Peter even did Briscoe's hair and then Briscoe slicked it to the side so then Henry fixed it for him and the little rascal ran back in the bathroom and slicked it to the side again.  I fixed it for him and he sure enough he did it again. Finally it was time to go and there was no time to fix his hair and suddenly my cute little rascal was sad that he had kept messing it up in an attempt to be silly.  So I quickly fixed it with my fingers and helped him get his shoes on the right feet.   It's so nice having a our basement finished! We l...

Belle's first dance recital

Image
She was a little nervous for her first dance recital until she saw the costume! And then when we got there she was a little confused about where I would be after I dropped her off backstage with her class.  Ben was sad he had to miss her very first recital so he took pictures with her before we left and told her how pretty she looked.  She was adorable! I was sad to go alone to watch her while Ben took the boys to Briscoe's basketball clinic.  Ironically Peter and Henry would rather watch Briscoe play basketball than watch Belle dance.  However they wanted to see the video I took afterwards and seemed genuinely interested in it.  Belle was so excited once she got on stage and she actually did pretty good following the moves for her dance.  She kept telling me and everyone else that she got to go up there two times!! Once to dance and then again to just sit there for the finale.  The next day she had dance class but she told me she only wanted to go to ...

Grantsville Jr Cowboys basketball is in full swing! Ben put up a hoop for the boys and they are playing all the time right now.  Briscoe is agressive and the first to get the ball.  Henry's really focusing on his technique and Peter is really good at passing to his teammates. Because we have 3 kids in the program we have 6 games this saturday and three practices during the week.  Thank goodness the season is only 6 weeks long.   The night of Henry's birthday he came down with a fever that lasted for 10 days straight.  His brothers took turns staying by his side and helping get through it.  They were happy to bring whatever he needed to feel better.  Briscoe was happy to sit next to him and watch an Ice Age movie marathon. They made it through 5 movies.  Henry tested negative for COVID, the Flu, Kawasaki disease, UTI, Mono, strep and Epstein Barr virus.  The pediatrician was very concerned and called the infectious disease experts at Prim...

Happy Birthday Henry!

I love to celebrate Henry's birthday every New Year's Eve! He turned 7 this year and we spent it at the local arcade playing games, eating pizza and then doing cake and presents at home with Grandma Karen and Grandpa Jerry who came to spend the night.

Christmas 2021

I can't believe Christmas has come and gone again! I struggled to get into the Christmas spirit this year with the move and everything else going on.  That's the great thing about having kids though they make every holiday come to life and seem magical. We did advent calendars and made cookies and treats and took them around the neighborhood.  We put up lights, picked out a tree, finished our Christmas shopping and even made a blanket for dad for his present this year.  We got lots of snow this year just in time for a White Christmas. We did the traditional Brubaker Christmas dinner which is preacher's delight.  Just as we had taken care of all of the kids needs and we sat down to take our first bite of delicious Christmas Eve Dinner Henry knocked his egg nog over and we had to clean it up! Another interruption before we could finally enjoy our meal.  You have to expect the unexpected with kids and know that the work will never be done.  We had lots of hot ...

Thanksgiving at our new house

Image
I forgot to take photos of our actual dinner because I was too busy just enjoying the moment.  Ben was so happy we hosted thanksgiving this year at our new house. He had initially not wanted to but he really got into the spirit and took over cooking the ham and the turkey which was awesome.  He also made sure we got some new furniture to make our guests more comfortable.  It encouraged him to call a plumber out to fix the botched job our contractor did in the basement.  The contractor left us with a toilet that didn't flush right it made a gurgling noise in the sink every time you flushed it.  The first thing the plumber noticed was that the water heater vent was not sealed shut and carbon monoxide was leaking into our house.  He was so angry and upset because that could have killed our little family.  He took care of that and fixed the plumbing issue and only charged us $200 so we felt like it was a blessing in disguise.  Sam was impressed...

My little Briscoe rolled all the way down the stairs to the basement today.  I wondered how long it would be until that happened because the top of the stairs is so close to the door going out to the garage.  I have almost taken a tumble down them myself. He's been really into writing me love notes lately and I kind of adore him for it.  I'm going to miss it when he outgrows it. The kids were playing so well together last night and doing their operations again.  They made a pyramid, a triangle and a jet pack.  I love it when they work together even though they get so loud and crazy. Briscoe got to come with us to Peter's boys activities at church and I'm always impressed with Peter's artistry.  He is such a little artist.  He spent the most time on his tree and it turned out the best.  I think he may be a perfectionist like his dad. I've been making Ben's dad's rolls recipe lately on Sundays even though I don't eat gluten anymore.  I wasn't g...
