Grantsville Jr Cowboys basketball is in full swing! Ben put up a hoop for the boys and they are playing all the time right now. Briscoe is agressive and the first to get the ball. Henry's really focusing on his technique and Peter is really good at passing to his teammates. Because we have 3 kids in the program we have 6 games this saturday and three practices during the week. Thank goodness the season is only 6 weeks long.
The night of Henry's birthday he came down with a fever that lasted for 10 days straight. His brothers took turns staying by his side and helping get through it. They were happy to bring whatever he needed to feel better. Briscoe was happy to sit next to him and watch an Ice Age movie marathon. They made it through 5 movies. Henry tested negative for COVID, the Flu, Kawasaki disease, UTI, Mono, strep and Epstein Barr virus. The pediatrician was very concerned and called the infectious disease experts at Primary Children's hospital for advice. A nurse called to check in with us daily while we were waiting for lab results. I was amazed at how well Henry submitted to what we had to do to keep him from burning up. He lived in just shorts no shirt for a week and a half. He slept without blankets even though he was freezing and let me know when the cool rag I kept on his forehead got hot and was no longer keeping him cool. He drank his medicine every two hours even though it burned his throat..he insisted on water even in the middle of the night when I would wake him to give him tylenol or motrin. I was alternating both every 2 hours for days on end. It was scary but we made it. His main symptom was that darn fever until a few days into it a sore throat started and his tonsils got huge and covered in white stuff. An ENT said it could be a viral tonsilitis. We will never know. I'm just grateful he finally got over it.
He got to stay home from school an additional 2 weeks after the Christmas break and Belle loved it.
