City Manager

Ben was hired to be the City Manager of Coffeyville, KS! We are so excited! We watched the meeting on Zoom with the kids when they announced and we all cheered.  Ben has been working towards this goal of becoming a city manager for years now! From his internship with the Salt Lake City's Mayor's office to the successful completion of his Master's of Public Administration and his mentorship with the Tulare City Manager in California this was a major milestone for our family!

We currently have a virus going through our house and everyone is running a fever and coughing all over me.  Unfortunately Ben started his first day at the City with the flu.  He had it for two days before starting his new job so hopefully, it will subside soon.

The kids have been out of school for the summer for a couple of weeks now and we have started swimming lessons and our Marine Biology Summer Science Study. We are reading Island of the Blue Dolphins to go along with our ocean life studies and it's been an interesting read that allows to learn about many other topics.  So our summer has gotten off to a great start!

Everyone including little 6-year-old Belle swims full laps to the deep end and back at their swimming lessons. Watching my little people swim across the deep end is pretty amazing!

We added a pig to our farm, so now we have a steer, 15 young chickens, 5 roosters, and a Hen to feed and water every morning. Watching the kids work together to feed the animals is so much fun. Our joy is truly full!

Belle and I had our dance recital over the weekend and it was pretty special! Ben spoke in the even session of stake conference so he came with the boys and Tami for our Sunday afternoon performance. My friend Lisa Cushing surprised us and came to watch us perform!  It felt so good to be part of a dance recital again for the first time in over 20 years. I can't wait for next year! Anyways, we have lots of good things happening all the time.  Next, we are getting ready for summer camps and a family reunion here in Kansas.  I love my little family so so so much!
