Brubaker's take Disneyland
We did it! We took our kids to DisneyLand for the first time! Even though Ben got a substantial raise this year we didn't quite have the cash on hand to fund this trip. We booked it on faith and a credit card anyways. We were due for a family vacation and Disney Land is the closest thing. A week before we were supposed to leave I got an unexpected check out of the blue for the amount of our trip. We were able to pay it all off. I believe it was the blessings of paying our tithing. I like to remember this experience as we are again facing the possibility of Ben losing his job or taking a pay cut. The company has not been doing well in this economy and we have been fasting, praying and Ben even got a blessing to help us through this uncertain time. It's important to keep track of all the times Heavenly Father has made a way for us and I try to remember that He goes before us and the way is already prepared.
Anyways we had a blast at DisneyLand and the kids did great. Peter was a champ and carried a backpack full of snacks and waters for everybody the whole day. He even carried his siblings at different times when they were too tired to walk. As soon as we got home we started planning our next trip and hope we can afford to make this an annual trip. I created a Disney Land jar and everyone has been contributing to it.
Our favorite rides were the Buzz Light year ride which we did twice, the Star Wars Tour and the Millennial Falcon. Peter and I loved Big Thunder Railroad but Belle was too traumatized to even scream and poor Henry was screaming like a mad man the whole ride. Briscoe held on tight to Peter and tried not to scream. I loved the Pirates of the Carribean ride and I think the mickey shaped ice creams we bought for everyone made the long line worth it. It was the best day! Belle and Briscoe started falling asleep in the early afternoon while we were in line to meet the princesses so we took a break from Disney Land and headed to a movie theater outside of the park to give everyone a rest.
