Happy Birthday Henry!

I love to celebrate Henry's birthday every New Year's Eve! He turned 7 this year and we spent it at the local arcade playing games, eating pizza and then doing cake and presents at home with Grandma Karen and Grandpa Jerry who came to spend the night.

Christmas 2021

I can't believe Christmas has come and gone again! I struggled to get into the Christmas spirit this year with the move and everything else going on.  That's the great thing about having kids though they make every holiday come to life and seem magical. We did advent calendars and made cookies and treats and took them around the neighborhood.  We put up lights, picked out a tree, finished our Christmas shopping and even made a blanket for dad for his present this year.  We got lots of snow this year just in time for a White Christmas. We did the traditional Brubaker Christmas dinner which is preacher's delight.  Just as we had taken care of all of the kids needs and we sat down to take our first bite of delicious Christmas Eve Dinner Henry knocked his egg nog over and we had to clean it up! Brubaker's take Disneyland

  We did it! We took our kids to DisneyLand for the first time! Even though Ben got a substantial raise this year we didn't quite have the cash on hand to fund this trip.  We booked it on faith and a credit card anyways.  We were due for a family vacation and Disney Land is the closest thing.  A week before we were supposed to leave I got an unexpected check out of the blue for the amount of our trip.  We were able to pay it all off.  I believe it was the blessings of paying our tithing.  I like to remember this experience as we are again facing the possibility of Ben losing his job or taking a pay cut.  The company has not been doing well in this economy and we have been fasting, praying and Ben even got a blessing to help us through this uncertain time.  It's important to keep track of all the times Heavenly Father has made a way for us and I try to remember that He goes before us and the way is already prepared.   Anyways we had ...

City Manager

 Ben was hired to be the City Manager of Coffeyville, KS! We are so excited! We watched the meeting on Zoom with the kids when they announced and we all cheered.  Ben has been working towards this goal of becoming a city manager for years now! From his internship with the Salt Lake City's Mayor's office to the successful completion of his Master's of Public Administration and his mentorship with the Tulare City Manager in California this was a major milestone for our family!  We currently have a virus going through our house and everyone is running a fever and coughing all over me.  Unfortunately Ben started his first day at the City with the flu.  He had it for two days before starting his new job so hopefully, it will subside soon. The kids have been out of school for the summer for a couple of weeks now and we have started swimming lessons and our Marine Biology Summer Science Study.
