First Halloween in our New House

We went to the trunk or treat in town that is put on by the police department with our new neighbors and it was fun to have another family to go with.  After standing in line for an hour and not getting much candy we decided to leave early and go home and have dinner and try our luck in the subdivision across the street from our house. COVID has made Halloween another lackluster year with little participation from the community.

Peter and I googled funny halloween costumes for boys and settled on Abraham Lincoln.  He said two of his friends pretended to be his body guards for an entire recess and told everyone to vote for him. I guess it was a hit! Briscoe chose a samurai costume this year and Henry decided that he should be a ninja and Belle kept calling herself super girl even though she was dressed up as wonder woman.  She was adorable either way. They are all so cute we can hardly stand it.

My mom had come down the weekend before Halloween and made spider cookies with the kids and then the next weekend Tami and Adam came and she made bat cookies with the kids.  They loved it.

Ben was excited to get to work on his pig pen with the help of his dad.  He said it brought back good memories from his childhood. The boys were happy to help too!

We carved our pumpkins a little late this year but it was fun! It's a lot of work and time consuming but I know the kids will treasure these moments forever.

The boys got to wear their costumes to school but I wasn't able to get Briscoe in the picture because he was too busy looking for his socks and shoes and as it was they all had to run to catch the bus.
